Various steps are implemented during the entire ‘life cycle’ of a Project in a Contracting Company, such as
Tender Programme
Any Tender Programme is prepared based on fulfilling the following for Tender Submissions
- Client requirements and Contract Conditions
- Governmental Regulations and requirements
- Complying with strategy for the Company.
These Programmes are comprehensive in such a way that they give a clear view to the Management and help them take Strategic decisions on the Projects.
Project Baseline Programme
After award of the Contract, Project Baseline Programme is prepared complying with the appropriate Conditions of the Contract. The Project Baseline Programme echoes the strategy and understanding of the Project Management Team in successful execution and delivery of the Project. All the stakeholder requirements and contract scope is extensively analyzed while preparing Project Baseline Programme. These Programmes are Resource Loaded and Cost Loaded for effective monitoring of the Project Progress.
Progress Updates, Progress Monitoring and Reporting
Monitoring the Progress of the Works is a critical feature of any Project Management System. This gives pellucid view of the performance of all parameters in the Project. Progress monitoring and reporting offers every stakeholder to undertake necessary preventive/corrective actions for successful completion of the Project. The periodical reports in the Projects are submitted complying with Client requirements in terms of format and duration for submission.
Resource Requirement Forecast and monitoring
Manpower, Material and Machinery resources requirement and availability in the Projects are monitored on a real time basis. This ensures the following
a) Optimal deployment of the available resources.
b) Comprehensible resource recruitment/procurement strategies
c) Focusing on Critical scenarios of the Projects and timely action on the specific needs
Extension of Time and Revision of Baseline Programme
Our Project Management System adheres to ‘progressive elaboration’ requirement of the Projects. The progress updates may indicate that Project not meeting the baseline performance indicators
- Changes to scope requirements of the Client, Governmental statutory regulations etc.,
- Resource availability constraints of the Contractor etc.,
These may render the project progress not complying with approved programme and the Project might not be completed in the Original duration. In these scenario Revision to the Project Baseline Programme in mandatory fulfilling the Client requirements.
The Programme may be acceleration Programmes to cover the delays occurred until the time in the Project or may be revised Project completion date.
Cost Control
Project Cost Control equips the Top Management with a powerful tool in ascertaining the performance of the Projects and thereby supports in making Strategic decisions for the Organisation. The Project Management System puts into use other available systems such as Estimating System and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Systems for effective Cost monitoring and Control.
